Roger Mader

Strategic Marketing Visionary & Innovation Leader from Manhattan to the Maritimes

Roger relocated to his family home in Mader’s Cove from Manhattan to bring the talents of a long career in strategic marketing and innovation to the Maritimes.

Following an early career with Accenture in the US and UK, he co-founded VIA International to bring multichannel marketing to major technology companies, and continues to serve, HP, PayPal and Amazon today. He served as strategy leader for EY and launched Ampersand, a renowned innovation consultancy grounded in the application of human-centered design and behavioral economics to discern the unmet needs of customers for his broad client base, including major airlines, financial services, technology and healthcare companies. He has served as senior faculty in the MFA Interaction Design program of The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and serves as part-time faculty in the Dalhousie Faculty of Management. He is the author of Purposeful Enterprise: Design Your Organization to Change the World.

Roger led the brand renovation of Subway, the world’s largest restaurant group, and was retained to serve as the Global Chief Marketing Officer to help to lead Subway’s return to growth in North America, concluding in the successful US$10B sale to private equity. He redirected the industry’s largest marketing budget and team, selected and recast the messaging of Subway’s Agency of Record, retaining and guiding the social and digital media and customer loyalty program.

In November of 2023 he received the Silver Apple lifetime achievement award from the Marketing Club of New York as a partner of Myra Media.
